Thanks to KEXP for turning me on to the great west coast band, Army Navy. Nicholas Clark Ashbaugh of LAist has a great interview with the guys.
In the interview, Army Navy talks about the music scene in LA:
It's good in LA but I don't think they're as hungry for music here. In Seattle [fans] know so much about what's going on in music. Everyone goes to see bands all the time and it's so much more a part of the culture than it is down here.
So true . . .
LAist has put up a free download of "Snakes of Hawaii". You won't be disappointed. I really love this song and I am excited to check these guys out. If you were lucky enough to get tickets to the Spaceland show, please let me know about the Arctic Monkeys.
West Coast Dates for November:
* Monday November 7th at Silverlake Lounge with Little One and Fielding
* Monday November 14th at Detroit Bar with The Color Turning
* Friday November 18th at Spaceland with The Tyde and Arctic Monkeys from the UK (SOLD OUT)
If you were lucky enough to get tickets to the Spaceland show, please let me know about the Arctic Monkeys.
