Several years ago, after Chick Hearn died, I read a blurb in Sports Illustrated that said the Encino Post Office was named after the late great Lakers announcer.
Turns out, Brad Sherman was behind that one too. Is that all he does? I am all for memorials, but are post offices the best way to remember our childhood heroes? and is this really what we want our legislators working on?
All this talk really made me wonder about what is next. If Brad Sherman had his way, where would he stop? Here are some ideas:
The Tom Lasorda Italian Deli
The Phil Jackson Fishing and Outdoor Depot
The Ervin "Magic" Johnson HIV/AIDS Center (too soon?)
The Vlade Divac Czechoslovakian Embassy
The Seth Cohen Anime Depot
The Marty McSorley Montessori School
The Arnold Schwarzenegger Center for Women's Rights
What's Brad Sherman thinking next? Any ideas?
How about the Chone Figgins (?) Phonics Education Center?

As a constituent of Brad Sherman's I can tell you that he is one of the hardest working members of Congress. Not only is he the ranking Democrat on the Terrorism Subcommittee, he is also a national leader in environmental protection.
Besides, Brad should be commended for working to name a Post Office in his Congressional District after one of his most famous constituents. Coach Wooden is THE basketball legend. Coach also shared his invaluable philisophy of leadership with millions through his books and lectures. I can think of no one more deserving of such an honor.

Scott, your passion and enthusiasm for Mr. Sherman is duly noted. I commend your effort of scouring the world wide web for any mention of Brad. He will miss you greatly when your internship is over.

I appologize for insulting your Internship. But really, there's no need to get glib on me. You're not a Scientologist, are you?

"We are almost out of time" for a compromise, warned President Barack Obama as U.S. financial markets trembled at the prospect of economic chaos next week.
